Meet Dr. Macaulay Ojeaga: Otolaryngologist–Head And Neck Surgeon In Austin, TX

Dr. Macaulay Ojeaga is a board-eligible otolaryngologist–head and neck surgeon who is proud to return to Austin after nearly a decade away. Born and raised in McAllen, Texas, he brings deep roots in the region and a lifelong commitment to serving the communities of the Rio Grande Valley and Central Texas.

Dr. Ojeaga completed his undergraduate education at The University of Texas at Austin before earning his medical degree at the University of Texas Health Rio Grande Valley. During medical school, he focused on caring for the underserved population of the Rio Grande Valley—a region he calls home—and developed fluency in Spanish to better connect with and serve his patients.

He completed his residency training in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Kansas Medical Center. There, he helped develop an emergency department protocol for the management of post-tonsillectomy hemorrhage, improving care for one of the field’s most urgent complications. He also founded a national interest group for medical students exploring careers in otolaryngology, reflecting his commitment to mentorship and the future of the specialty.

Dr. Ojeaga’s clinical interests span the full breadth of otolaryngology, including the management of complex sinus disease, allergic disease, sleep surgery, and head and neck surgery. He has a particular passion for pediatric otolaryngology and especially enjoys performing tonsillectomies and ear tube placement. He also has a strong interest in Mohs reconstruction.

For patients with chronic sinus and nasal conditions, he offers medical management of chronic rhinosinusitis and allergic disease, endoscopic sinus surgery, balloon sinuplasty, in-office and image-guided sinus procedures, septoplasty, and turbinate reduction. For patients with snoring and obstructive sleep apnea, he offers comprehensive sleep evaluation, nasal airway surgery, palate and soft-tissue procedures, tonsillectomy for airway obstruction, and hypoglossal nerve stimulation (Inspire) therapy.

Dr. Ojeaga is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery (AAO-HNS), the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, and the Texas Medical Association.

Dr. Ojeaga believes that the best outcomes begin with listening. He is committed to compassionate, evidence-based care and to partnering with each patient through shared decision-making—taking the time to understand their goals, explain every option clearly, and tailor treatment to their individual needs. Caring for patients in both English and Spanish, he strives to make every person feel heard, respected, and confident in their care.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Ojeaga enjoys running and cycling around Lady Bird Lake, exercising, reading, cooking, and traveling to experience new cultures and cuisines. He loves snorkeling and relaxing at the beach, cheering on UT football, and—above all—spending time with his family.
