Dr. Daniel Slaughter earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX. He entered medical school at the age of 19, as the youngest student in the prestigious school’s history. He served as a freshman class student president and graduated with honors as a member of Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society.
He continued his training with a five-year residency in Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston, TX. This intensive training encompassed all aspects of ear, nose, and throat, head and neck surgery, and facial plastic surgical care.
Dr. Slaughter is Double-Board Certified in Otolaryngology and Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Otolaryngology. He has been in practice for more than 30 years in Austin, TX.
Dr. Slaughter has been actively involved in the development of leading-edge technologies in Otolaryngology. He was integral in the development and FDA approval of balloon sinuplasty technology and served as a Center of Excellence for Entellus Medical for many years, providing mentoring to otolaryngologists nationwide in balloon sinuplasty. He presently serves as a Training Excellence Center (TEC) for Fiagon/Hemostasis, providing mentoring for Otolaryngologists nationwide in balloon sinuplasty techniques and IV sedation. Active in various professional organizations, Dr. Daniel Slaughter is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, the Texas Medical Association, and the Travis County Medical Society.

In his personal life, he is an avid athlete and enjoys mountain biking, road cycling, swimming, and hiking. He has competed in many triathlon races, including completing a full Ironman Triathlon. In his free time, Dr. Slaughter enjoys spending time with his wife and family.
